(Español) 159 EL ENCANTO DE UN AYER MALHERIDO

(A suggestive title …… but real that on this earth can be applied, just by looking back ….. to a not too distant yesterday ….. where there are no longer those Peoples, those Valleys , and those rivers populated by wonderful beings created by Nature and without laboratory aids…..)

We were lucky to meet some Rivers …… that unfortunately they will never return.
Only in our memories appear with various friends, dear friends ……. how many adventures, how many days of fishing and how much illusion.
I have several photographs … and today I was asked for this one that is very special, it is the Porma River in Secos del Porma, the Table of the Boatman … now neither boat … nor the Table, nor the Island of on top of that it was a spring of trouts ……. and speaking of springs …. that fountain a little below where it used to park ……. did not care to go up or down, there were trouts of Good size and quantity, how many times I went down to Santa Olajina and many more, how many times I went up to the Port of Villafruela where the refuge … but they are stories of the past … stories of old.
THERE WERE NO CORMORANS, THERE WERE TRUMS AND NUTRIES AND CRABS FOR ALL PLACES WHERE A RIVER WAS RUNNING.
NOW WHAT IS THERE …..?, ….. these are not my rivers, nor my trouts ….. this is the end of an era …. the rest substitutes …. that nothing you have to see.

***Inform you that I was the youngest and now I am 80 …. my friends one already goes over 90 and the others close …… some very endearing ….. they left and are always in my thoughts.

As you can see in one of the photographs that accompany this article… .This Sport was practiced as we had always known our ancestors… ..that is to say without many prohibitions and certainly always with death.
But everything changed in a few years … for various reasons the Rivers depopulated and some measures were taken to preserve what was left … and in those we are, I know I will not see that miracle … I wish it were true.

But the Rivers, like friendships …… ”once lost, recovery is very difficult”.
